Emerging Markets is a broad term encompassing the financial markets of any developing country, which typically houses a smaller market with a shorter operating history, a lower per capita income, and a transition from a closed economy to an open market economy. Due to the relative youth of these markets, investors are drawn towards to the potential for rapid growth and higher expected returns not as readily available in more saturated and developed economies. Although these markets have high growth potential, increasing foreign and domestic investment, the risk associated with these markets is also amplified, due to the instability of the transitioning market. Analysts within the emerging markets fund are those with a strong interest in international affairs, global economics, and rapidly changing environments.
