Fall 2018 Recruiting
USIT's success in portfolio management, national competitions, and the professional development of its members draws from the strengths and talents of its Strategic Capital Group (SCG) and Associate Board leaders.
New members have the opportunity to join USIT's leadership team as either a Junior Analyst in SCG or a Board Chair on the Associate Board. The selection process for both positions is competitive and requires applicants to submit both a resume and application. Applicants moving on to the next stage will be invited to an invitational lunch and interview with current members of SCG and the Associate Board.
We seek candidates who demonstrate interest in finance, strong work ethic, and desire to learn, have fun, and give back. Students of all majors are encouraged to apply and no prior experience in finance or business is required to become a part of either SCG or the Associate Board.
Interested applicants are advised to attend our one of our three information sessions and additional welcome events to learn more about the organization and meet current members.
Applications for SCG and Associate Board will be released after the first General Meeting on September 11th and due September 18th at 11:59PM. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Can I apply for both scg and board?
Yes. We highly encourage you to apply for both SCG and Board if you are interested in holding a leadership position within USIT. Applying for both does not affect your chances of being accepted into either. If you are wanted as both a member of SCG and Board, you will have the option to select the position that is a better fit for you.
Do I need prior finance knowledge?
No. You just need to be interested in learning more about finance and excited to explore the subject!
Is there an application to be a general member?
No. You do not need to apply to be a general member. General members will still learn finance and accounting skills and be able to participate in stock pitches. Whether you choose to be a general member or apply for SCG will depend on your personal goals.
Do I need to attend more than one information session?
No. You should attend one out of the three information sessions. The same material will be covered at all three. However, if you cannot attend any of the information sessions, you should reach out to the Executive Board to schedule an alternative.
If I am not accepted into either SCG or Board, can I still be a part of USIT?
Yes. We highly encourage you to stay a part of USIT even if you do not get into SCG or Board. Being a part of USIT's analyst groups grants you access to finance and accounting training and enables you to learn the skills you need to be successful in the business industry. Many general members have also gone on to become leaders in USIT after their freshman year. All three of the current Executive Board members, for example, were not a part of SCG their freshman year.
